So, I started the Annie and Christian story as a fun way to do the A to Z challenge. I thought it’d be a great way to write every day and to try to put together a semi-cohesive story on a whim. I didn’t succeed in doing it a month, but it really got my wheels turning on continuing the path of moving the story forward. I’ve wanted to write a novel forever, and I’ve got a handful of stories that are 5,000 to 10,000 words in, but I never seem to get any further! Putting it out publicly has kind of been my way of keeping it progressing. While I really, really want to go back and edit (and re-edit…) the beginning, this has been a great way for me to just lay out the sketch and keep it moving. I’ve already learned so much, like how exercising your writing muscles is a lot like physical exercise or dieting! It’s easy to fall off the regiment, but don’t beat yourself up over it. Just get back on the bike.
My plan is to keep moving forward without looking back. It might not be the smoothest running story, but that’s not the point. This will be my sketch. Once I hit the end, I will rewrite, snip, polish and edit until my heart is content (not on the blog,) and then I will figure out a way to get it back out there. It may be an ebook, it may be self-published. It might be a .pdf! Who knows. The only thing I know for sure is that it’s a journey that I’ve wanted to take for a long time. For me. And I’m really happy to have you along, if you want to be.
Start here to start from the beginning.
